Hugo’s Raceway is a modern BMX racing facility in Grand Forks, North Dakota, designed for weekly local racing, rider development, community events and major national competition.

Hugo’s Raceway features a 1,225-foot BMX track with four paved corners and a limestone-glued racing surface designed to provide a consistent, high-quality race experience.

In 2026, the facility continued a major period of investment with the addition of a new ProGate starting gate and a new registration, retail and concessions building measuring just over 4,000 square feet.

The result is a facility built to serve first-time riders, weekly racers, families, spectators and competitors traveling to Grand Forks for some of the biggest BMX events in the region.

Hugo’s Raceway combines a technical BMX track with modern facility infrastructure to support both local race nights and major events.

1,225-Foot Track

A full BMX race layout designed to challenge riders while supporting progression across age and skill levels.

Four Paved Corners

Four paved turns provide a durable, predictable racing surface and help maintain consistent race conditions throughout the season.

Limestone-Glued Surface

The race surface uses glued limestone to create a smooth, firm track surface built for speed, control and consistent maintenance.

New ProGate

A new ProGate system was installed in 2026, providing riders with a modern starting experience from the top of the hill.

Modern Event Space

The facility is designed to handle weekly racing, special events, large crowds, spectator seating and national-level BMX competition.

More than 4,000 square feet built around the race experience.

In 2026, Hugo’s Raceway opened a brand-new registration, retail and concessions building measuring just over 4,000 square feet.

The new building creates a centralized home for race-day operations while giving riders and families improved access to registration, merchandise, concessions and other track services.

It represents one of the largest facility investments in Red River BMX history and is a major part of the continued growth of Hugo’s Raceway.

Red River Nationals

Home of the 2024 & 2026 Red River Nationals.

Hugo’s Raceway is proud to have hosted the Red River Nationals in both 2024 and 2026, welcoming BMX riders, families and teams from across the country to Grand Forks.

Hosting national competition highlights the strength of the facility, the work of Red River BMX volunteers and the continued support of the Grand Forks community and our partners.
